Legal support
Access to protectionLegal information, advice and support for people whose rights have been violated.
We are Glotion. A public foundation working to protect human rights and build a society free from discrimination.
We bring together legal support, research and advocacy to make human rights part of everyday life in Kazakhstan.
Glotion works with communities, civic initiatives and partners. We focus on equality, freedom from discrimination, and people’s participation in decisions that affect their lives.
To advance human rights and freedoms through education, human rights analysis, monitoring, assessment and information, and the protection of public interests.
We envision a society where everyone enjoys safety, dignity, equality and human rights, without discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
Our areas of work: civil rights and freedoms, including freedom of peaceful assembly and participation; equality and the rights of LGBTQIA+ people.
Three connected areas of work. One purpose: the rights and dignity of every person.
Legal information, advice and support for people whose rights have been violated.
Documenting barriers, developing recommendations and advancing human rights through dialogue.
Learning, exchanging experience and supporting community participation in decision-making.
From 2024 to 20 October 2026, Glotion’s work on LGBTQIA+ rights was carried out within the joint REQUEST initiative. Results from this period are presented as contributions to the initiative’s collective work.
More than 100 participants discussed rights, access to health and ways to seek protection. This figure relates to this series of events.
Individual legal support was complemented by strategic cases and community education.
In a collective administrative case brought by seven people against the Saryarka District Police Department in Astana, the court ruled in favour of the claimants.
